Proteas are from South Africa. They're in the Proteaceae family, like Waratahs, Banksias, Hakeas and Grevilleas which are the Australian branch of the family.

These earrings are made using real wood and finished with an all-natural oil sealer. Exposure to detergents, water and body products will eventually break down the finish and will expose the raw wood and will lead to premature ageing.
